Q: Hi Kate! What are your 3 favorite Eye Shadow Trios and how do you apply them?
Eye Shadow Trio in sweet ‘n’ spicy– This is the little trio that could. I think it’s underrated because people are intimidated by the soft orange shade but I promise this trio works for everyone! It is a great alternative to the Eye Shadow Trio in sandstone because you still get a very natural eye with a tiny bit of edge to it. I start by applying the lightest shade all over (lash line to brow bone). Then using the taupe shade, I use my Textured Eye Brush to softly place the shade in my crease. Then using my Eye Base Brush, I apply the orange shade to my lid. Depending on my mood, I will sometimes place Eye Shadow in opal down first to make the orange pop a bit more! I also use the orange and my Smudge Brush and apply to my lower lash line.
Eye Shadow Trio in coffee – This one is the best basic, multi-tasker! This trio can make a natural day look, a dramatic chocolate brown smoky eye and the dark brown makes a beautiful liner. It’s perfect for any eye shape, skin tone or eye color! This one is one that every woman needs… The possibilities are endless!
Eye Shadow Trio in amethyst – I love using this Eye Shadow Trio to create the perfect summer smoky eye with a few other basic Eye Shadow shades! To start, I use twig as a base, applying it to my lid first (lash line to crease). Then, I apply Eye Shadow in kona to my crease. Next, I grab the Eye Shadow Trio in amethyst and start with the darkest shade and my Eye Base Brush. I stipple (tap) it on my lid (on top of both twig and kona) then, using my Eye Blender Brush, I apply the medium purple shade to my crease, blending lightly. Using Crease Brush I place the lightest purple on the inner corner of my crease and lid. To complete the look, I use a clean Eye Blender Brush and blend and finish by placing Eye Shadow in diamond on my brow bone to highlight. I use a Smudge Brush to place the darkest purple on my lower lash line and I have a unique smoky eye that is perfect for summer!
