glo How-To: Barefaced Beauty

Are blemishes, redness and acne scars holding you back from trying the barefaced look? It’s time to ignore the idea that you have to have “perfect skin” to try this look. Our lovely model Juli says she avoided following the barefaced trend because  “I have blemishes and redness around my chin that never seems to go away.” To show Juli that a minimal makeup look was possible, we enlisted the help of our National Makeup Artist, Janeena, who helped Juli get the barefaced look using glo minerals Sheer Tint Base.

“Just because this is a sheer foundation doesn’t mean it won't give you adequate coverage. What I love about it is that it covers blemishes and evens out skin tone while still letting your skin’s natural beauty shine through,” says Janeena. On Juli she applied Sheer Tint Base in golden with the Texture Brush to cover blemishes and camouflage redness. Without using any other camouflage, Janeena was able to create a natural, healthy and radiant complexion. Sheer Tint Base delivers a slightly dewy finish while also nourishing and protecting your skin which is why it’s a great choice for the hot summer months!

“I love the final look, it is so natural and I feel confident knowing that I can recreate this look with little effort” says Juli, “It’s perfect for the weekends and work days when I am running late. Knowing that I can achieve such flawless coverage so simply makes my busy life a bit less complicated.”

To create a similar barefaced look follow these steps:

Step 1: Apply Sheer Tint Base using the Texture Brush
Step 2: Apply Blush in innocent to your cheekbones
Step 3: Apply a quick swipe of Eye Shadow in sand pebble across entire lid
Step 4: Apply one coat of Lash Boosting Mascara
Step 5: Finish with Protecting Lip Treatment SPF 15 in champagne punch
